Like many women who experience what I did - I was put on birth control. I wasn’t sexually active but my periods were so bad that I was on the verge of missing school and, well, we couldn’t have that.
I tolerated these symptoms during college because I was afraid of how bad my period might be if I wasn’t on birth control. I was more afraid of it getting worse than how much worse I was feeling.
I will forever be grateful to the doctor in that emergency room that night. Her first question was “are you on birth control?” when I started relaying my symptoms. She told me “you will walk out of here - but the first thing you need to do when you get home is throw that pill packet out.”

No amount of Western intervention could get it stopped. That’s when I learned about the incredible wisdom of East Asian medicine.
Acupuncture and herbs got my bleeding stopped in just a few sessions. I was hooked. I could feel something awaken inside of me calling me to this work.

I struggled with my period from the moment it started at the age of 12. At first it was cramps and irregularity but then it grew into extreme pain, clotting and heavy bleeding all before the age of 15.
Like many women who experience what I did - I was put on birth control. I wasn’t sexually active but my periods were so bad that I was on the verge of missing school and, well, we couldn’t have that.
Birth control wasn’t the “cure” I was led to believe by my doctor. The pain remained, although it was screaming at me in a slightly lower volume. The clots remained. The sad part was that I started feeling different emotionally. I felt a little less zest for my life. I tried hard to push through it but the weight gain that shortly followed…I was feeling less like myself all the time.
I tolerated these symptoms during college because I was afraid of how bad my period might be if I wasn’t on birth control. I was more afraid of it getting worse than how much worse I was feeling.
Symptoms like this creep on slowly. By the age of 25 I found myself in the emergency room of a hospital having a heart attack because of the birth control I was on.
I will forever be grateful to the doctor in that emergency room that night. Her first question was “are you on birth control?” when I started relaying my symptoms. She told me “you will walk out of here - but the first thing you need to do when you get home is throw that pill packet out.”
She was right. I did walk away from that experience. With a whole heart of gratitude for her skills saving my life and a new perspective on medication - a new chapter of my life began.

When I stopped breastfeeding I bled for six months straight.

My gifted acupuncturist was as skilled a teacher as she is a practitioner. I was overflowing with questions and she answered everything I threw at her, provided me with resources to read and learn from and it only fueled my hunger for a deeper connection to this body of knowledge.

East Asian medicine literally wrote the first book on gynecology. I have dedicated my life to learning everything I can to support women’s bodies so they can live their healthiest and fullest lives.

I understand the body as a symphony composed of the music of the physical, emotional and spiritual body. I use all of my tools to teach and empower you to understand your body, what it is telling you and how to support it in meaningful ways.

I am an educator first and foremost. Most of our challenges with our cycles come from a collective lack of knowledge about how our bodies work. An omission, like so many things in the female experience, that has left generational wounds that I’m called to help heal.
Even when I’m doing hands-on work with my clients - I’m always teaching. I’ve made it my life’s work to empower others through body literacy education and teaching other practitioners so they can go out and share this work in the world.
My journey has been a long one but it has fueled my curiosity and heart centered work at every turn. I’m so grateful your curiosity has led you here.
Thank you for your interest in me and my work. From the bottom of my heart - it is my honor to serve you.
Yours In Harmony,
Adrienne

I attended a clinical herbal program to deepen my knowledge of our herbal allies and have training in Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic materia medica. Most recently I brought the sound healing gifts of Acutonics into my work as the only certified practitioner and instructor in New England.

My journey has been a long one but it has fueled my curiosity and heart centered work at every turn. I’m so grateful your curiosity has led you here.
Yours In Harmony,

Things don’t feel good in your body. You don’t know why but you are on a quest for answers.
You have this “knowing” that what you have been told at the doctor’s office doesn’t feel “quite right” but you can’t put your finger on it.
You want another perspective
You are feeling a shift in your life and your current situation doesn’t feel aligned anymore
Surgery and hormones don’t feel like the only options but you don’t know what else is out there…
